Summer Movie Dump
by LoneWolf on Sep.30, 2007, under Chill Flicks
With Fall officially here, I thought I’d dump the rest of the chill flicks I saw over this summer, but didn’t have time to post about, into one post with limited comments and or reviews.

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY
Pretty funny as with most Adam Sandler flicks. The chemistry he has with Kevin James helps push this story of helping a friend out. The comedy still goes the extra mile with jokes ranging from LOL to EWWW to WTF? Through in some TnA, especially that of Jessica Biel, and you’ve got the Sandler movie formula in correct form.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
The strongest of the three in terms of suspense. This movie actually get me interested from beginning to end. The shaky cam isn’t as headache-inducing like the second one. Matt puts on a great performance as Jason Bourne remembers his past and decides to tie up some loose ends the only way he can, with cunning espionage and producing a decent body count.

SHOOT’EM UP
Insane gun fights. ZOMGREALLYINSANEF’NGUNFIGHTS! A pretty decent plot with a few twists. Paul Giamatti plays an outstanding villian. Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci definitely heat things up in this movie. Justin told me that if the movie was casted any differently he wouldn’t have seen it. He’s right.

3:10 TO YUMA
This period piece flick easily falls into the “One of my favorite Westerns” category (others on this list are: Dances with Wolves, Tombstone, Unforgiven, The Quick And The Dead, and Open Range). With such complex characters (played by Christian Bale, and Russell Crowe) in an intriguing story, it’s hard to choose who to root for throughout the film. It’s characters of such depth like these that make Westerns never grow old.
