Our First Korean Feast!

Solliphana's Korean BBQ

Last night, after watching the ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8′ episode (there was a viewer’s choice marathon on all day) where Jon cooks the family a mouthwatering Korean dinner of BBQ’d beef, fried rice, and some kimchi, Serena and I decided to try out Solliphana’s Korean BBQ which was next door to our stylist’s studio (who also happens to be Korean and recommended it to us). It was a slow night at the restaurant so we didn’t have to wait. In one of the more secluded dining areas we saw a nice family cooking and dining away. Since this was our first time there, we decided to have the food prepared for us rather than cook it ourselves. That way, the next time we go, we’ll know when we’ve cook our meats properly.

We both ordered Gal Bi and we each got a serving of white rice and soup. The meal also came with 8 sides that we shared. Yes, 8 sides were delivered to our table, all to compliment our Gal Bi, white rice and soup. I tried to take a pic of the spread with my cell phone. It’s a bit blurry, but your mouth will definitely water just staring at all the culinary delights laid before us.

For our first time experiencing traditional Korean BBQ, we had a great time and definitely ate ourselves into a coma. Lucky for us, this restaurant isn’t too far away from our apartment. We made home in time to let the food coma set in and catch some more Farscape.

  • Damn. This episode of Jon & Kate has me hankering for some Korean food. Nothing complicated, some Kimchi, Rice and Korean BBQ. #
  • Our first Korean dinner experience was pretty good. Solliphana’s delivered a food-coma inducing meal at a decent price. Korean BBQ FTW! #
  • Coming out of food coma. More Farscape FTW! #
