SDCC’09 Spoils

SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2009

Usually, I tend to spend more money than I should at conventions. This year, I didn’t go crazy since we were attending two conventions this year. I needed to budget my spending at the San Diego Comic-Con so that we wouldn’t go into Wizard World Chicago broke.

At the Aspen Comics booth, Serena picked up this awesome Ember Lithograph by Joe Benitez and Peter Steigerwald. She also picked up the Aspen Comics SDCC 2009 Swimsuit issue.

While Serena was attending the DC Talent Search Panel, I secretly picked up The Michael Turner Premium Illustrated Sketchbook Set Vol. 1 at the Aspen Comics booth. It’s a Limited Edition SDCC 2009 Exclusive with only 250 of them made. My intention was to give these to her after her appearance in Artist Alley at the Chicago Comic-Con this year.

I hid the sketchbooks in the bag they gave me at the convention after picking up my badge and then afterwards I secretly packed them in my suitcase. I didn’t want to risk them getting damaged while being shipped with all our other goodies via UPS.

Other than picking another DOLLHOUSE DVD set for my cousin, Jason, and the cool signed photo and picture with Adam Baldwin, we really didn’t spend too much money at our very first San Diego Comic-Con. We’re hoping to attend again next year and go for the full 5 day experience.
