Yahtzee Brutalizes Brutal Legend

by LoneWolf on Oct.29, 2009, under On Teh Internets

Having played both Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, I prefer Psychonauts over Brutal Legend. Brutal Legend has a few flaws in it’s gameplay but it was an awesome attempt at mixing open world gameplay with real time strategy. I just wish the RTS portion was a bit more polished in the controls. Overall, I enjoyed the game, it’s wildly fantastical story, and it’s graphical style. It definitely is a Tim Schafer game to me. Having Jack Black, Tim Curry, Jennifer Hale, as well as rock icons like Lemmy from Motorhead and Ozzy Osbourne lend their voices and looks (except for Tim Curry, he played Doviculus) was an awesome bonus. The soundtrack is phenomenal and I hope that there will be an official soundtrack, maybe with an artbook, released in the future.
