Baked With A Whole Lotta TLC FTW!
by LoneWolf on Mar.15, 2009, under Another Kodak Moment, Culinary Artwork

Last night, after Serena got home from work, we had a nice birthday dinner at TGI Fridays, just the two of us. As we were eating dinner, a few friends sat down a few booths away from us. I swung by their booth to say hello’s and receive some birthday wishes from them. I quickly scurried back to my booth as the Fridays crew were about to make my birthday announcement. Our waitress asked how old I was turning and so I asked her to say “20 plus 12 years XP”. I’m sure my friends got a good laugh out of it, while the other patrons were pretty much clueless.
Dinner was truly worthy of the title of ‘food coma inducing goodness’! We ordered Buffalo Wings for our appetizer and Serena had the Jack Daniels Flat Iron while I had the Jack Daniels Ribs and Shrimp. For drinks, she had the Ultimate Pomegranate Margarita and I had the Ultimate Mudslide. After deciding that we both coma-bound, we packed up our leftovers and headed home for some cake. This year for my birthday, which was yesterday, Serena baked me a Chocolate Truffle birthday cake! The cake turned out f’n great! It was moist and definitely rich in chocolate goodness. Guys, a helpful tip, any girl that can do some serious baking, is a girl worth going after! Serena ended taking some cake to work to share with the girls, which is fine by me, cause there’s no way we’ll be able to finish that cake by ourselves.
After Serena went to bed, I stayed up with a half a bottle of Jim Beam and played a few rounds of Horde mode in Gear of War 2 with my buddy Don. I almost finished the bottle, but Don decided to call it a night after the 7th wave and I figure I might as well crawl into bed before I pass out completely. There’s still about third of a cup left in the bottle. I probably finish that off tonight. That way, I can have an excuse to go to the liquor store. ;p
Thanks to all who sent me birthday wishes through Facebook. Sorry, I didn’t throw myself a party. With all my cousins either in school, on break, or at work, it wouldn’t have felt fair to have a party with just a few of my family members. I promise I’ll throw a party for my “20th Plus 15 Years XP” birthday. ;p

Inauguration Dinner 2009
by LoneWolf on Jan.20, 2009, under Culinary Artwork

Serena had the day off on this historic day, so after watching all the pomp and circumstance during the day, we hit Jewel after I got off of work to buy some ingredients for our very own Inauguration Dinner Celebration. So we decided to have some pan-seared salmon fillets, bacon wrapped scallop medallions, with some rice pilaf and steamed veggies. Prepped and cooked by the both of us, we had a good time in the kitchen and obviously enjoyed eating the end result!
