It’s New Comic Book Day! – 2 Weeks Worth Edition

by LoneWolf on Apr.21, 2010, under A Comic Book Guy and His Comics

I’ve been both lazy and busy with other stuff and did not have a chance to actually read any of the comic books I’ve picked up in the last two weeks. Considering that there wasn’t much accumulated in the past two weeks, I’m hoping to get them all read before this weekend so I can read the new stuff that is out this week. Also, I’ve got to do some re-organizing as Serena wants to make the effort of reading what I’m reading. Which is basically all DC stuff at the moment. She got really into the DC panels we attended this past weekend at C2E2, hearing all the fans rave about BLACKEST NIGHT and the excitement caused by the panelists of things to come in BRIGHTEST DAY.

  • BATGIRL # 9
  • BATMAN # 698
  • BATMAN AND ROBIN # 11
  • BOOSTER GOLD # 31

After narrowly escaping death and dispensing his own brand of justice, DELLEC wastes no time in setting his sights on his next mark, a freak serial killer with some rather, sadistic fetishes. However, like all things in Dellecs life, he will come to discover the challenge is far greater than the reward and a lot more dangerous. As well, DELLEC begins to realize the violent events in his life are more than simply coincidental, as his destiny may have already been written in a wicked plan cast down at the dawn of mankind!
A completely brand new maxi-series brought to you by Aspens own Frank Mastromauro, Vince Hernandez and Micah Gunnell, along with inker Rob Stull and colorist Matt Hollingsworth, DELLEC is unlike anything Aspen has ever done before. This inventive new title is set to raise the bar on cinematic storytelling, while keeping you on the edge of your seat every hair-raising moment.

It’s New Comic Book Day!

by LoneWolf on Mar.19, 2010, under A Comic Book Guy and His Comics

Spent a good time at Keith’s Komix this past Wednesday updating our pull list. Lots of titles got cut (nearly all of Marvel) and I added a just a few titles I started picking up regularly but will most likely get cut when there’s a change in the creative teams. One of those titles is Power Girl. I’ve been loving Amanda Connor’s art and when I heard she was moving on after issue 12, as well as the rest of the creative team, I was a bit disappointed. We also decided to pick up the rest of the stuff we had on hold.

This week we have:

  • BATGIRL # 8
  • BATMAN # 697
  • BOOSTER GOLD # 30
  • DEADPOOL: MERC WITH A MOUTH # 9
  • EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT IRIS # 4
  • GREEN LANTERN CORPS # 46
  • JOE THE BARBARIAN # 3
  • MERCY THOMPSON – HOMECOMING (HC)
  • RED ROBIN # 10
  • TITANS # 22 and 23
  • WOLVERINE ORIGINS # 45

PICK OF THE WEEK: GREEN LANTERN CORPS # 46
