It’s New Comic Book Day!
by LoneWolf on Nov.18, 2009, under My Other Reality
No new toys, statues, or other collectibles today which is good considering that I should be concentrating on finishing my X-mas shopping. My goal is to have it all done by Thanksgiving. The only exception is my family Secret Santa. I won’t find out who that is until after Thanksgiving dinner. I’m looking forward to the Batman titles this week, as well as THE OUTSIDERS Blackest Night tie-in.

The greatest threat to face the Flash Family in decades stands revealed! A new hero will step into an old speedster’s boots! And Barry Allen will make the ultimate sacrifice: his life! Oh yeah, you read that right, but you’ll never believe just what it means! They always say nothing will ever be the same, but trust us, this one will rewrite the history books!

It’s New Comic Book Day!
by LoneWolf on Jan.08, 2009, under My Other Reality

A day late and a week behind due to our recent car troubles. We are still without a car but I layered-up and braved the cold, walking to the comic book store after work today. Ten minutes after stepping in the door, Serena calls me to let me know she was finally coming home after enjoying her day off at her work. I told her if she wanted, she could meet me at the comic book store and we could walk home together cause I know she would’ve felt disappointed not being there with me, visiting Keith, the shop owner, and catching up. The dial-a-ride took the scenic route and after dropping off Serena, she felt nauseous. She sat down for a bit looking through the enormous pile of comics we had accumulated, while I nerded-it-up with Keith and a few of the other regulars. We talked about whether or not ‘The Spirit’ was worth seeing for free if you new someone working at the theater. We all agreed it wasn’t worth seeing for free and that Frank Miller would have to pay you to go see it and pay for you dry cleaning cause we’re all pretty sure that the movie will make you vomit all over yourself cause it IS that bad.

Television’s science fiction masterpiece Farscape returns! Farscape creator Rockne O’Bannon teams up with Farscape novelist Keith R.A. DeCandido (House of Cards) to continue his creation in comic book form right where the Peacekeeper Wars left off!
Find out what’s in store for John Crichton, Aeryn Sun, Rygel, Chiana, and the rest of the Moya crew! Do the comics tie into Sci-Fi Channel’s upcoming webisodes? You know it, ‘Scapers! Don’t frelling miss this!
Serena and I just finished the series and that ending through us for a loop. Next up is the Peacekeeper Wars DVD, we don’t have to wait to buy it cause Keith let us borrow his copy. The 3 hour movie picks up where the series ended to tie up loose ends since the network only wanted to do half a season 5 to the 100th episode but the creators and the cast refused, wanting to do a full season or nothing. Obviously when we finish the DVD and return it to Keith, we’ll eventually buy our own copy to go along with our boxsets.
The comic picks up after The Peacekeeper Wars, which I don’t mind since it worked so well with Buffy Season 8 and Angel. The comic however is only a 4 issue mini-series. Let’s hope there are enough fans out there to encourage the creators to make this a monthly series!
