It’s New Comic Book Day!
by LoneWolf on Nov.21, 2010, under A Comic Book Guy and His Comics
This week’s visit to Keith’s Komix was a bit brief but we managed to pick up all our books and it looks like I have quite a bit of reading ahead of me with both Batman and Brightest Day books! Bruce Wayne is officially back from the past and his plan for a global Batman presence is starting to unfold! Thank the gods I started my new job this week and will hopefully have the money to budget for more Batman books! Serena, after talking to Sidney, decided to take a look at the newest book of Marvel’s mutants, Generation Hope. Apparently some crazy stuff happened after the Second Coming storyline, i.e. Nightcrawler and Cable dying (most likely not permanent deaths). Now Hope’s powers have grown dangerously incalculable making her more Phoenix-esque but without the crazy eyes. All of this was covered in the HOPE’S SAGA primer at the end of the Generation Hope’s premiere issue. I’m curious and tempted to pick up the trades of the last few storylines that happened after Second Coming that lead up to this point but I think I’ll see how Serena likes Generation Hope first.
Sadly, we arrived a bit too late to get dinner at Mario’s Pizza next door and for me to play some Monsterpocalypse. Nevertheless we had a good time just chatting with Keith and a few regulars before closing time. This kinda sucks as there will not be any Game Night next week due to Turkey Day 2010.
