It’s New Comic Book Day!
by LoneWolf on Nov.11, 2010, under A Comic Book Guy and His Comics
Finally, after being delayed, Bruce Wayne returns! The question left for me is whether or not I will want to pick up the new Batman titles slated to come out in the next month or two. With Brightest Day and its tie-ins still going, it’s gonna be tough to budget for more Batman books. I guess I can give it the 3-issue trial and then decide whether or not the books in question are worth my time and money. Serena saw that Humberto Ramos is the artist for the latest Amazing Spider-Man arc so she picked up the issue in support one of her favorite artists. If she says the story is good, I’ll probably read it.

It’s New Comic Book Day!
by LoneWolf on Nov.05, 2010, under A Comic Book Guy and His Comics
Serena had a great time yesterday night at Keith’s Komix! This week was pretty light but well rounded. Serena is excited for OZMA OF OZ # 1 and SCOURGE # 2. BRIGHTEST DAY continues for me and I’m also looking forward to BUFFY SEASON 9 # 38! As Serena worked on some pages for her special project with writer, Alverne Ball, I played some Monsterpocalypse against Keith. He decided to give his Empire of Apes army a try against my Subterran Army. It was a rough battle as his Ape Alpha Monster took out my Subterran Alpha Monster early on the game. Forcing me into a defensive posture with my Subterran Hyper Monster, I kept my distance and used range attacks. Combined with my monster’s ability to knock his monster after the range attack hit, I slowly wore down his Ape Monster and beat him with one wound (life bar) left!
This week we have:
- BATMAN AND ROBIN # 16
- BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL # 50
- BRIGHTEST DAY # 13
- BUFFY SEASON 8 # 38
- DV8: GODS AND MONSTERS # 8
- JSA ALL-STARS # 12
- OZMA OF OZ # 1
- THE SCOURGE # 2
MY PICK OF THE WEEK: BUFFY SEASON 8 # 38

Writer: Joss Whedon, Scott Allie
Penciller: Georges Jeanty
Inker: Andy Owens
Colorist: Michelle Madsen
Cover Artist: Jo Chen
Genre: Action/AdventureWhile Super Buffy is fighting side by side with Spike in Sunnydale, Angel is on the other side of the world fighting demons of his own. As Twilight he was given a clear mission in regard to Buffy–help her reach the next plane, together create a new world, and end all suffering. But Buffy doesn’t play by the rules, and this “higher plane” and a lifetime of happiness with Angel wasn’t gonna cut it–not if she had to sacrifice her family to keep it. And now Angel has to answer for his failings as Twilight–willingly or not.
Back in Sunnydale everyone is fighting for their lives against a horde of demons, and someone close to Buffy joins forces with a villain from the past to strive for a common goal–protect the seed.
The finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight is in full effect, and you won’t want to miss a single beat of Joss Whedon and Georges Jeanty’s fateful conclusion years in the making.
* Joss Whedon writes the series finale!

It’s New Comic Book Day!

It’s a pPretty light pick up for the last week of October. Mostly DC Comics today with more Brightest Day tie-ins: Green Arrow and Justice League: Generation Lost. J.T. Krul of Aspen Comics takes on the role of scribe for the Teen Titans and brings in Damian (Robin) into the current roster. This arc will definitely be interesting to read as I’m interested to know if Damian can really learn from and work with the Titans or is he just gonna be the same brat we’ve known him to be at Batman’s side. Keith and his family are going on a vacation tomorrow so there will not be any Game Night.
