Why Am I Not Surprised?

Thanks MadCatz for making another piece of crap accessory. I found a forum discussing the issue and it appears there’s a problem with a washer. A poster on the forum posted some pics and his solution that requires you to open it up. I’m not gonna bother with that fix since that will not solve the ‘A’ button issue.

I’ve often been told that buying third party accessories for my console, especially from MadCatz, is a waste of time and money. This first and last experience has proved that to me. Thankfully, I kept the receipt and will able to get my money back when I return this piece of shit.

Last night, I encountered a severe glitch in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I happened on my second visit to Felucia. I started playing and about halfway through I checked my stats. I noticed that the first bonus objective just said: *DEFAULT TEXT and then that the 2 and 3rd objectives were not being tracked. I was hoping that by the time I finished the stage that everything would unlock. But after beating the stage, my stats didn’t register. I had 0 kills counted, no holocrons collected even though I got them all, and no force points earned for each kill I had throughout the stage. I didn’t even unlock the achievement for beating the stage. I searched the forums and found that I was not the only one with this glitch. From what I’ve read, there’s no definite trigger to the glitch and it can happen at any level. One guy got it at the second level while someone else got to the last level and it glitched. The glitch even carried over to the next stage. After the cutscene, I check my objectives and sure enough the glitch was still active (see the above pic).

It’s obvious there something wrong in the actual code of the game. I just don’t understand how Quality Assurance at LucasArts could miss this. Didn’t anyone playtest this game thoroughly before going gold? I understand that every game can’t be bug free, I can deal with minor bugs. But a glitch like this is seriously ruining the play experience for me.

I’ve emailed tech support at LucasArts and even included a link to one of the forums that discusses (rants) about the glitch. Hopefully this will force them to expedite a patch. Otherwise a lot of gamers are gonna be trading this game in as quickly as they bought it.

Heroes hasn’t changed. It’s still overrated, full of cliches and predictable. What a waste of primetime TV watching. Every scene thus far has been one EPIC FAILURE! I can’t even keep my eyes glued to the screen. Usually if I’m into a show, I’ll even sit through the commercials. Watching Heroes, I’ve surfed the net, checked my email, check the clock on the wall at least once every 5 minutes. This show is just not keeping my interest. The second hour of the premiere has started and I’m not even watching, I’m writing this post. I can hear the show behind me but it has become mere background noise that is easily ignored. I can’t even get myself to turn around when Hiro and Ando are talking.

I’d rather read Secret Invasion. At least that story has been rather unpredictable and somewhat interesting. But, it still is crap.

I wish Prison Break would switch time slots with Sarah Connor, that way I can easily switch to Sarah Connor after watching Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. *sigh*

I’m so pissed with disappointment that I’m not gonna bother putting up an image of HEROES to accompany this post.

Off to find tonight’s episode of Sarah Connor on the InterTubes.
