Dragged To Hell And Enjoyed Every Minute Of It
by LoneWolf on Jun.06, 2009, under Chill Flicks

Serena and I caught a morning matinee yesterday and saw DRAG ME TO HELL. This movie, from start to finish, is funny, gruesome, and filled with many ‘Oh $#!t’ moments. Sam Raimi hasn’t lost touch with his over-the-top horror roots and it’s evident in this film as some of the scenes remind you of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series. The film’s narrative was nicely done and has an equal filling of all the ingredients of a Sam Raimi horror film that’s sure to become a cult classic. I normally don’t see horror flicks, partly because most of those getting a lot of media coverage are just remakes. DRAG ME TO HELL is quite original in it’s own right even though it displays a lot of the similar themes that are timeless in the horror genre. This movie is definitely not for kids or those with squeamish hearts and stomachs. If you’re a cat lover, this may not be a film for you. There’s also a goat in the movie. If you like goats, you may want to avoid this move as well. ;p
Overall, DRAG ME TO HELL is probably one of the chillest horror flicks to come out this year. And quite possibly the only chill horror flick worth seeing. Let’s hope that Sam Raimi can bring this kind of passion back to the Spider-Man movie franchise. Definitely drag yourself, your significant other, and/or several friends to the theater to see this chill flick!
