Unleashed Glitch Results In Unleashed EPIC FAIL!
by LoneWolf on Sep.29, 2008, under Justified Rants

Last night, I encountered a severe glitch in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I happened on my second visit to Felucia. I started playing and about halfway through I checked my stats. I noticed that the first bonus objective just said: *DEFAULT TEXT and then that the 2 and 3rd objectives were not being tracked. I was hoping that by the time I finished the stage that everything would unlock. But after beating the stage, my stats didn’t register. I had 0 kills counted, no holocrons collected even though I got them all, and no force points earned for each kill I had throughout the stage. I didn’t even unlock the achievement for beating the stage. I searched the forums and found that I was not the only one with this glitch. From what I’ve read, there’s no definite trigger to the glitch and it can happen at any level. One guy got it at the second level while someone else got to the last level and it glitched. The glitch even carried over to the next stage. After the cutscene, I check my objectives and sure enough the glitch was still active (see the above pic).
It’s obvious there something wrong in the actual code of the game. I just don’t understand how Quality Assurance at LucasArts could miss this. Didn’t anyone playtest this game thoroughly before going gold? I understand that every game can’t be bug free, I can deal with minor bugs. But a glitch like this is seriously ruining the play experience for me.
I’ve emailed tech support at LucasArts and even included a link to one of the forums that discusses (rants) about the glitch. Hopefully this will force them to expedite a patch. Otherwise a lot of gamers are gonna be trading this game in as quickly as they bought it.

The Force Is DAMN Strong In This Game
by LoneWolf on Aug.21, 2008, under A Geek and His Games

Downloaded and played the demo (on Xbox 360, duh) today. It was not disappointing at all. It’s hard to believe that 3 different types of engines are packed in to this game because the gameplay is just so fluid. There wasn’t a stutter or hiccup when everything on screen got insane. I must have spent at least 10 minutes in that one area where the TIE Fighters fly by and try to shoot you just bending the girders outward with my Force Grip and waiting for the next TIE Fighter to fly buy and get taken out by me trap. It’s games like these that rekindle my love for Star Wars, not for the movies, but for the games. Not since I played Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy on the PC had I ever had this much fun with the Force.
The demo is pretty sure unless you’re just messing around. You can play different difficulty levels and you do experience one force power leveling up. The harder difficulties will have you adapting your play style. I played thru the easiest setting with no problem. Went one higher and I managed to die a few times from blocking too much blaster fire with my face and at the end getting trampled by the AT-ST stomp shockwave and rapid fire.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is due out Sept. 16th. This give you just enough time to grind for those final achievements in Soul Calibur IV before trading it in towards The Force Unleashed. Lucky for me, George didn’t get my $60 for Soul Calibur IV (aka Masters of Teras Kasi 1.5 guest starring those dudes from Soul Calibur). ;p
