Thanks 1UP! I can already tell that I won’t enjoy being a noob at this game without a joystick. The only question is, which joystick should I get?

Capcom has finally announced a solid release date for Street Fighter IV. Gamers all over North America will get their Sonic Booms on when the game releases Tuesday, February 17th. I haven’t heard from Game$top as to whether or not there will be a midnight launch for Street Fighter IV. With the ginormous fan following this franchise has and the arcades being packed in the Asian market, a midnight launch for the console version would seem appropriate.
Sporting a 3D look with character models and backgrounds, Street Fighter IV is still a 2D fighter and goes back to its roots in terms of gameplay. This move to old school gameplay is a great move by Capcom to introduce the franchise to new players while re-invigorating the love of the fans who’ve been playing since SFII.
February 17th, 2009 may seem like a ways away, but that’s more than enough time to brush up on your Hadoukens when SFII Turbo HD REMIX finally releases at the end of the month.
